Name : Salome Ngamau, Ndenderu Franchisee
I started Farm Shop in May 2013 in my home location of Ndenderu, close to Nairobi. Before I opened this Farm Shop as a franchise; I used to deal with hardware and a few farm inputs. I heard about Farm Shop coming to our location, and I was excited to learn more. I was lucky to be a participant in their training sessions, where they taught us much about farm inputs and everything to improve a farm and its yields.
I have seen a tremendous change in my life because of farm shop. When I had my hardware store, I was struggling to make ends meet, making Kshs. 4000 on a good day there. Farm Shop brings me about Kshs. 20,000 on a good day. That is five times the amount I used to make. In a month, I can make an income of about Kshs.700,000 and Kshs. 70,000 is my personal profit.
Being a farm shop franchisee has also made me a leader in the community. People now always bring me invitation cards to attend all sorts of events, just because I am a franchisee of this Farm shop.
Overall Farm Shop is changing the community, one farmer and one shop at a time.
